New ‘Chappie’ Trailer Tones Down The Cute, Gets Heavy On Action

The first footage from “Chappie” was so cute that it probably made your brain short-circuit, but that’s not the case here.

The new trailer for Neill Blomkamp’s sci-fi movie about a robot with a mind of its own goes heavy on the action. Instead of just seeing that Chappie acts like a person and watches “He-Man” cartoons, this new trailer focuses on the fact that Hugh Jackman and Sigourney Weaver’s characters really don’t like that. There are car flips, gun fire and just enough explosions to suggest actor Dev Patel and his talking robot are in for a pretty wild adventure. “Chappie” opens in theaters March 6.
